We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead Power BI Engineer with over six years of experience in business intelligence and data analytics. This role demands advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel, including the ability to build dynamic visualizations from OLAP cubes within Excel. The ideal candidate will lead the development of scalable BI solutions, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights through Power BI and Excel-based reporting. Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and deployment of Power BI dashboards and reports Expertise in SQL based data models and queries Create advanced Excel reports and visualizations using pivot tables, Power Pivot, and cube functions Build and maintain OLAP cube connections for Excel-based analysis Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting systems Establish best practices for Power BI and Excel reporting, governance, and version control Mentor and guide junior BI engineers and analysts Stay current with BI trends and recommend tools and techniques to enhance reporting capabilities
Requirements
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics Expert-level proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization) Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, Power Pivot, cube formulas, and OLAP integration Experience working with large datasets and complex data environments Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to lead projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git / SVN
Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with SharePoint to be able to support existing SharePoint reports and convert them to Power BI Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake) Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis Certification in Power BI, Excel, or related technologies
