Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Performance Monitoring and Analytics

  • Daily & Real-Time Monitoring:
  • Oversee centralized monitoring of all operational solar assets using SCADA, CMS tools. Identify anomalies, energy generation deviations, and underperformance issues in real-time.
  • Performance KPI Management:
  • Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as PR (Performance Ratio), CUF (Capacity Utilization Factor), Availability, MTTR, MTBF, and energy yield benchmarking across sites.
  • Loss Analytics & Root Cause Identification:
  • Analyse energy loss due to equipment failure, weather, grid outages, or operational lapses. Build structured loss categorization models and generate insights for targeted interventions.

2. Advanced Diagnostic Tools and Predictive Modelling

  • Inverter-Level Diagnostics:
  • Conduct advanced analytics on inverter health including string-level mismatch, thermally induced degradation, reactive power trends, and harmonics.
  • Module Mismatch & IR Thermography Analysis:
  • Lead analytical assessments based on drone-based IR data to detect hotspots, diode failures, and degradation trends. Suggest remedial and warranty actions accordingly.
  • AI/ML Integration:
  • Collaborate with digital transformation teams to deploy ML models for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and forecast-based performance optimization.

3. Reporting, Dashboards & Visualization

  • Dashboard Development:
  • Lead development of centralized performance dashboards integrating weather, asset health, alarms, and power output data using tools like Power BI, Grafana, or custom CMS.
  • Daily/Monthly Generation Reports (DGR/MGR):
  • Standardize automated reporting with alarm integration, budget-vs-actual comparisons, downtime trends, and actionable performance summaries for management.
  • Portfolio Benchmarking:
  • Analyse inter-site and intra-site performance comparisons to identify best practices and create improvement roadmaps for underperforming assets.

4. Stakeholder Coordination & Team Leadership

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Liaise with site teams, CMS vendors, SCADA teams, OEMs, and external consultants to resolve issues and validate findings.
  • Technical Training & Capacity Building:
  • Conduct performance analytics training for O&M engineers and site performance champions to build a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Management Briefings:
  • Present performance summaries, deviation reports, and site-wise risk flags to senior leadership during monthly/quarterly O&M reviews.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Education:
  • B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy. Masters in Energy or Data Analytics (preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 8–12 years of experience in Solar O&M, at least 3 years in a leadership analytics role for utility-scale solar.
  • Technical Tools:
  • Expertise in Advance Excel, Python/R/SQL, Power BI, CMS dashboards, IR image analysis, predictive maintenance algorithms, and inverter diagnostics
