About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Institutional Investment Operations Specialist


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives in operational and customer service for lifecycle support for institutional trade flow functions including client account onboarding, cash payments, customer service, funding or custodial operations, securities settlement services, structure loan operations, reconciliation as well as support resolution of issues in and out of their responsibility

  • Act as key participant in large scale planning, gathering data to support resolution of issues in areas in and out of responsibility

  • Review and research complex multi-faceted operational and customer support on loan, securities and derivative product issues for institutional trade flow and provide oversight and add efficiencies to processes that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors

  • Demonstrate full knowledge and serve as leadership on projects along with internal and industry related industries

  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted loan, securities and derivative products requiring understanding of the function, policies, procedures and compliance requirements

  • Influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Perform daily Profit and Loss reporting & attribution reporting

  • Perform daily reconciliation of Profit and Loss with finance and system of record

  • Perform daily reconciliation of unrealized PNL, realized PNL and marketing fee between system of record and Front Office

  • Responsible for documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures for PNL Team

  • Perform other ad hoc projects as assigned

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of loan, securities, and derivative products

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Knowledge of key regulations impacting the financial markets (Dodd frank)

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

  • Collaborate with all business partners and various departments, create efficiencies and mitigate risk for team and organization

  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity

  • Demonstrates a high degree of reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness in all areas, foster teamwork

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of loan, securities, and derivative products

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Experience in a middle office PnL analyst role with an energy major and/or bank that's heavily engaged in energy trading

  • Analytic thinker who likes to solve problems with strong attention to detail

  • Analyst should have strong numerical and analytical skills, strong articulation and out of box thinking

  • Candidate will be expected to work closely with the Middle Office LoBs in US and broad Operations functions. Strong Middle Office candidate with extensive PnL reporting experience and life-cycle management of the energy & commodity suite including natural gas, crude, power, agriculture and metals. Comfortable with both physical and financial derivative products.

    Strong analytical skills and effective communicator. Candidate should have exceptional excel skills and comfortable consuming big data and articulate what that data represents.

    Candidate shall be able to demonstrate good understanding of financial products and key regulations impacting the financial markets.

  • University degree/Post graduation in Business /Accounts/Economics/Stats.

  • Experience in the institutional Investment Banking Operations especially in Commodities

  • Us shift role: 8:00 am to 17:00 pm est
