Job Description – Lead/Head of Human Resources Location: Mumbai (At-office role)

Reports to: CEO

We are looking for a dynamic Head of HR to build and lead our People & Culture function as we scale rapidly across India and globally.

Role Overview As the Head of Human Resources, you will be responsible for designing and driving the people strategy at TIS. You will partner with leadership to attract, retain, and nurture top talent, while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. People Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute HR strategy aligned with TIS's vision and growth plans.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on all people matters.

• Champion company culture, values, and employee engagement.

2. Talent Acquisition & Development

• Build a structured recruitment engine for educators, mentors, operations, and leadership roles.

• Create talent pipelines through partnerships with universities, institutions, and industry bodies.

• Develop learning & development programs to upskill employees and future leaders.

3. HR Operations & Compliance

• Establish HR policies, processes, and systems for a scaling organization.

• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulatory requirements.

• Implement HR tech tools for performance management, payroll, and employee lifecycle management.

4. Performance & Culture

• Design and implement performance management systems (KRAs, OKRs, appraisal cycles).

• Drive employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.

• Lead Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs.

5. Organization Design & Growth Enablement

• Partner with business heads to define org structures and workforce planning.

• Manage compensation strategy, benchmarking, and rewards to stay competitive.

• Support change management during new initiatives and expansion.

Desired Candidate Profile

-Experience: 8–12 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in edtech, startups, or high-growth organizations.

- Strong exposure to talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational development.

- Demonstrated ability to build HR systems from scratch and scale teams. - Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.

- Excellent communication, people skills, and conflict resolution ability. - MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent preferred.
