Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced Frontend Lead to spearhead the development of our mobile and web applications at ZOCA. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management, requiring expertise in modern frontend technologies and cross-platform development.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead frontend architecture decisions for both web and mobile applications
- Establish coding standards, best practices, testing pipelines and development workflows
- Design scalable, maintainable frontend solutions
- Conduct code reviews and ensure quality standards
- Stay current with frontend technologies and recommend strategic tech choices
Team Management
- Build and lead a high-performing frontend development team
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers
- Conduct hiring interviews and technical assessments
- Set sprint goals and manage development timelines
- Foster collaborative culture between frontend and backend teams
Project Delivery
- Oversee end-to-end frontend development lifecycle
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams
- Ensure responsive design and optimal user experience across devices
- Implement testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor application performance and optimize accordingly
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- 6+ years of frontend development experience
- 2+ years in leadership/management roles
- Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript
- Proficiency in React.js and React Native
- Experience with state management (Redux, Context API, MobX)
- Strong CSS/SCSS skills and responsive design principles
- Knowledge of bundlers (Webpack, Vite) and build tools
- Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Detox)
- Understanding of REST APIs and GraphQL
- Git proficiency and code review experience
Mobile Development
- Experience with React Native
- Understanding of mobile app deployment (App Store, Google Play)
- Knowledge of mobile-specific considerations (performance, offline functionality)
- Experience with mobile testing and debugging tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with micro-frontend architecture
- Knowledge of backend technologies (Node.js, APIs)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS)
- Experience with analytics and monitoring tools
- Previous startup or fast-paced environment experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Work Culture
This is a work-from-office role based out of Koramangala, Bengaluru, with alternate Saturdays working as part of our weekly schedule.
