Lead Finance / Assistant Manager Finance

Role Purpose (Why do we need this role)

This Lead Finance / Assistant Manager Finance is responsible for Implementing & managing IFC, complying with all the statutory compliances (GST, Direct Tax, Income Tax, RBI, FEMA etc), and providing support for financial reporting and audits completion.

Role Accountabilities (What is this role responsible for delivering)

1. Financial Controls & Compliances

- Implement and maintain Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) in compliance with the Companies Act, 2013.

- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with Income Tax, GST, RBI, STPI, FEMA, and Company Secretary-related compliances (e.g., Board meetings, ROC filings, Secretarial compliances).

- Manage GST refund applications and ensure proper documentation and follow-up with authorities.

2. Financial Reporting & Audit Support

- Prepare accurate financial statements and schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

- Coordinate and compile documentation for Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, and internal Audit requirements.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

- Track Budget vs Actuals, analyze variances, and provide actionable commentary.

- Support cost optimization initiatives through financial analysis.

4. Business & Leadership Support

- Prepare and deliver MIS reports for leadership and business units.

- Develop and enhance scalable financial processes to support business expansion.

Business Improvement

• Engage business improvement process to identify wastes and inefficiencies, suggest and assist to implement business improvement process to increase efficiencies.

General

• To take a proactive role in the development and enhancement of processing systems associated with administration costs processing and reporting.
• Perform other duties as agreed with your manager.

• Challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviors or unsafe conditions.
• Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Policies and Operating Procedures.

Key Qualifications & Skills (What knowledge will ensure success in the role)

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 45 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit coordination.
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation laws, regulatory frameworks, and secretarial compliances.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Excel, SAP, and MIS tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on experience with GST refund processes and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with ROC filings, Board resolutions, and Secretarial standards.
• Implement and maintain Internal Controls over Financial Reporting.
• Exposure to STPI compliance for IT/ITES companies.
• Ability to manage audit queries and coordinate with external auditors effectively.
• Strong understanding of financial automation tools and process optimization.
