What you'll do on a typical day:
- Lead the development and implementation of automation testing frameworks using WebDriverIO, Appium, and TypeScript.
- Automating UI and API interactions using tools such as Selenium/Playwright (preferred), Rest Assured (optional), and programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient test scripts for mobile applications to ensure high quality and performance.
- Mentor and lead a team of Mobile QA engineers, providing guidance on automation best practices and tools in mobile testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure understanding of testing goals and objectives.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency in automated tests and test framework development.
- Monitor and report on test execution results; analyze and communicate defects and failures to relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the automation testing process for better efficiency and effectiveness.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- 9+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role, with at least 2 years in a lead position.
- Proven experience as a Lead, Automation QA with expertise in mobile automation testing.
- Experience automating UI and API interactions using tools such as Selenium/Playwright (preferred), Rest Assured (optional), and programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Strong proficiency in WebDriverIO, Appium, and TypeScript or any other relevant programming language for building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of mobile application testing strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience leading small to medium-sized testing teams and mentoring junior QA engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
