What You'll Do

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.

The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

The incumbent is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing IP and technology intelligence practices across all Eaton businesses. She / He is expected to provide leadership on technical/competitive intelligence and contributing to IP strategy for various programs in the organization.

  • Serve as an expert on IP (especially Patent analytics, Patent laws, Copyright) and technology intelligence. She / He is expected to share reports / insights within the organization on trends and highlight whitespace for solution development.
  • Contribute to developing IP strategy and technology roadmaps for programs globally by working in close coordination with research and product teams.
  • Collaborate with global R&D and Innovation teams to identify opportunities of engagement and improve innovation effectiveness.
  • Have in depth knowledge of the aligned business division programs, goals and strategies and develop constructive IP solutions aligning to business needs and strategy.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze large amount of data, connect multiple data sources and generate actionable insights for progression of the technology and IP creation.
  • Create new work packages, coordinating from concept to implementation stage, managing deliverables executed by multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Understand mega-trends and proactively identify and communicate relevant disruptive trends that enable timely informed decision making.
  • Possess ability to influence and drive people / activities on complex technical issues.
  • Provide mentorship to the team in terms of guidance and coaching in improvement of their work product, deliveries, quality and efficiency.
  • Possess strong report and technical writing skills. She / he should be a good communicator and should be able to drive results working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • He/She should be expected to be well versed in technologies related to Mechanical, Mechatronics, automotive, Electric vehicle components, Vehicle Electrification, Connectors, Power electronics such as invertor, converter, power distribution etc. Prior experience in Patent licensing, IP portfoio management, Innovation events management will be added advantage

Qualifications


Masters / Bachelors Engineering Degree in Mechanical/ automotive/ Mechatronics.

10-15 years experience in Intellectual property and Technology / Competitive intelligence
