What You'll Do
The Lead Engineer is a key contributor to manufacturing performance and operational excellence, providing advanced industrial engineering expertise to improve productivity, cost, quality, and safety. This role leads complex improvement initiatives, establishes scalable standards, and partners with plant leadership to drive datadriven decisionmaking.
The Lead Industrial Engineer is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, influence crossfunctional teams, mentor junior engineers, and support strategic manufacturing initiatives across one or multiple sites.
- Lead plantlevel and crossplant industrial engineering initiatives to improve productivity, throughput, and cost performance
- Establish, validate, and govern labor standards using engineered methods and datadriven analysis
- Drive line balancing, capacity modeling, and staffing optimization aligned to takt and demand variability
- Lead complex process design, layout optimization, and material flow improvements
- Own and deploy standard work, work measurement systems, and IE governance models
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives (Kaizen events, VSM, SMED, pull systems)
- Identify and resolve systemlevel constraints and bottlenecks using structured problemsolving methods
- Utilize MES, ERP, and operational data to develop insights, dashboards, and executivelevel recommendations
- Support new product introductions, major line expansions, and production rampups
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS to improve safety, ergonomics, and product quality
- Mentor and coach junior Industrial Engineers and support capability building
- Present recommendations, tradeoffs, and business cases to plant and functional leadership
Qualifications
Requirement:
- Masters / Bachelors in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering
- Minimum 12+ years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills
- Candidates having valid US Visa(B1/B2) will be an added advantage
- Demonstrated expertise in work measurement, labor standards, and productivity systems
- Strong experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles in production environments
- Proven ability to lead crossfunctional improvement initiatives
- Advanced data analysis skills (Excel required; Power BI, Minitab, or similar preferred)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate independently in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
- Team player, ability to get things done through teams effectively
- Managerial courage - doesn't hold back that needs to be said; provides positive & corrective feedback
- Business acumen - knows how business work; knowledgeable in current and possible future technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Position requires 40% travel ( both domestic & International )
