Job Description

What You'll Do

The Lead Engineer Industrial Automation will design, commission, and scale fully automated production solutions for ETO electrical assemblies (switchboards, LV assemblies), covering robotics, PLC/motion controls, vision/AI-guided assembly, digital work instructions, and MES/IIoT integration. The role owns URSFATSAT delivery, creates standard cell templates, and leads Eaton's Industry 4.0 lab: selecting hardware/software, building demonstrators, publishing commissioning playbooks, and training engineers for repeatable deployments across plants.

  • System Architecture & Commissioning Ownership: Convert URS/SRS to detailed control architecture (cells/lines, safety zoning, networks); author FMEA/PFMEA; define ISAS88 state machines; lead design reviews, preFAT, FAT, SAT, rampup, handover.
  • Robotics Integration (ETO Assembly & Wiring): Flexible robotic cells for panel/enclosure handling, device insertion, torqueing, label OCR, busbar handling, wire strip/crimp, harness routing, riveting, and EOL tests; EOAT/fixtures with compliant tooling and quickchange.
  • Working experience with Robot Programming & OLP/Simulation: Native stacks (URScript, TP/KAREL, RAPID, KRL, INFORM, ACE, AS, VAL3, SPEL+, MELFA BASIC, FD, ORiN); OLP (RoboDK, Visual Components, DELMIA OLP, RobotStudio, ROBOGUIDE, KUKA.Sim, Process Simulate); reach/collision/cycletime validation and postprocessors.
  • Working experience with PLC/Motion/HMI/SCADA: Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Schneider, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi; IEC611313 logic; motion/VFD; safety PLCs; HMI/SCADA; S88 state modeling.
  • Networks/Fieldbus & IIoT: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, DeviceNet, Modbus/TCP, POWERLINK; OPCUA, MQTT/HiveMQ, Kafka; VLAN, NTP/PTP, OT firewalls.
  • Collaborate to work with expert peers inVision & InStation AI to commission: Keyence/Cognex/IDS/SICK/RealSense; OCR/label verification, binpicking, hole/slot location, projector guidance; OpenCV/Cognex Designer pipelines.
  • Working experience with Digital Work Instructions (DWI) & AR based deployment: LightGuide, Arkite, PTC Vuforia; operator guidance, serialization, step traceability, rework routing.
  • MES/IIoT/Data Backbone: Apriso/Ortems/eMaint integration; WO/routing/serial/QA mapping; FPY/OEE/SPC dashboards via MQTT/Kafka/OPCUA.
  • Safety & Compliance: ISO 12100, ISO 10218/TS 15066, ANSI/RIA R15.06, IEC 61508/62061, ISO 138491; risk assessments; LOTO; CE/UL doc packs.
  • Industry 4.0 Lab Ownership: Lab architecture, vendor ecosystem, standard cell templates, commissioning checklists, code libraries, PoCs, training.
  • Supplier/Vendor & Project Governance: RFQs/specs, ATPs, spares, integrator/OEM management, coding standards, change control, KPI impact.
