Job Description

Job Purpose

Defines and executes engineering solutions within Seal Technology team, and acts as a technical and technological referent, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures and processes, schedules and man hours, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Works in a small team to develop new products and industrialize existing equipment for Seal Technology product line
  • Defines the attributes, requirements, and specifications for new products
  • Engages with the entire value stream to ensure effective cost, manufacturing, and operation
  • Performs hand-calculations and FEA to support design work
  • Presents to customers and multi-disciplined audiences
  • Creates prototypes of new products throughout the design process and evolution
  • Quickly identifies problems throughout execution. Asks for help from sponsors whenever struggles and unresolved problems stall the development
  • Regularly checks in with supervisor to discuss project status and decisions
  • Tracks spend, budget, and forecasted costs for personal projects
  • Maintains a personal schedule of projects and communicates updates with key stakeholders
  • Executes prototyping and final qualification testing in a shop/lab environment
  • Reports directly to the Seal Technology Value Stream NPD/PLM Team Lead/ Engineering Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable discipline, with at least 8 years of related experience, preferred
  • Advanced technical skills in engineering
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Skillful communicator and negotiator
  • Excellent training and mentoring skills
  • Advanced planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding business challenges and what drives customer values
  • Excellent command of English

Additional Skills

  • Focus on detailed mechanical design and qualification work with a sound understanding of engineering practices, design methods & calculations
  • General understanding of economic factors (cost, profit, impact of decisions) affecting product developments along with knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, qualification, and test processes
  • Able to read, interpret and prepare technical designs and documentation
  • Able to work with a global team to solve and implement complex solutions into an existing product line
  • Knowledge of API 6A/17D, preferred
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage priorities
  • Must have presentation and coaching skills
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively in a team setting
