The Infrastructure Sector includes a portfolio of high-profile projects that include international, national, and regional clients, contractors and various Local Authorities. Jacobs Highways team provides comprehensive consultancy and engineering services to the highways sector, covering the full spectrum of highway infrastructure requirements, from business case and project development, preliminary appraisal, and feasibility studies through to detailed design, implementation, operational management advice and operations and maintenance.
Role Lead Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a minimum of 10 years in the field. A postgraduate qualification in Transportation Engineering is preferred. This role will support Australia & New Zealand transport civil engineering projects within a Global Integrated Delivery (GID) setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central coordinator across transport civil disciplines (roads, rail, drainage, utilities, pavements, earthworks, general civil works).
- Ensure smooth communication, task alignment, and timely delivery across design teams.
- Perform high-level reviews of civil design deliverables and provide corrective guidance.
- Interpret project comments, mark-ups, and technical queries, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Apply strong civil engineering fundamentals in geometric design, drainage, utilities coordination, pavement design, and general civil works.
- Support consistency, quality, and multidisciplinary coordination across outputs.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers in a distributed team environment.

Qualifications & Skills
- BE Degree in Civil Engineering /Post-Graduation in Transportation/Highway Engineering.
- 10+ years experience in highway engineering design
- Familiarity with Australian Standards, Austroads guidelines, and ANZ design practices.
- Experience with civil infrastructure projects (roads, rail, pavements, drainage, utilities).
- Proficiency in 12d, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads.
