We are looking for a Lead Engineer - Frontend to spearhead the design and development of intuitive, high-performance, and scalable web interfaces. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has led the frontend architecture and team for a B2B SaaS or fintech product. You will work closely with product managers, backend engineers, and designers to drive frontend excellence - from high-level architecture to day-to-day execution - while leading & mentoring a talented frontend team.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the frontend architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Drive the development of responsive, accessible, and highly interactive web applications using modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product vision into robust technical solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
- Define and enforce engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and coding standards.
- Ensure excellent performance, user experience, and visual polish across browsers and devices.
- Proactively identify and address tech debt, scalability bottlenecks, and architectural gaps.
- Stay on top of the latest in frontend tech and bring innovations into the team's toolkit and workflows.
- Act as the technical sounding board for the frontend roadmap, design discussions, and prioritisation decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in frontend development, with demonstrated tech leadership or mentoring experience.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale web applications in fast-paced B2B product companies or startups.
- Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), React, TypeScript, CSS, and associated tooling (Webpack, Vite, ESLint, etc).
- Strong command over web fundamentals, HTML5 CSS3 browser APIs, and performance optimisation.
- Demonstrated experience in building complex dashboards, visualisations, or workflow-heavy interfaces.
- Solid grasp of unit/integration testing and frontend test frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
- A product mindset with a strong sense of UX and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with design systems and component libraries is a plus.
- Exposure to backend systems or full-stack development is a bonus.
