Role Description

As Lead Engineer, you drive the design, build, and continuous improvement of our cloud-based and on-prem core data applications. You'll lead a high-impact squad, setting technical direction, mentoring team members and contributing directly to architecture and code.

Your key responsibilities

• Hands-on contribution into software development efforts
• Model, test, collaborate (to understand requirements, create stories, and design solutions), implement and help test requirements
• Contribute to the development of testing and quality control processes and policies
• Design solutions using common design patterns with a range of design tools and techniques
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure designs are fit for purpose, extensible & re-usable
• You skillfully exploit existing optimization potential within our processes
• Ensuring smooth and efficient service provision, taking into account all upstream and downstream processes
• In the future, you will take responsibility for maintenance of benchmark data and calculate theoretical prices used for calculation of performance fee for retail funds. Act as contact person for internal business department questions related to performance fee of retail funds

Your skills and experience

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus
• Very strong expertise in Java application development, including micro-services,
• Very strong experience with operational databases (e.g. MS SQL, Postgres, Oracle)
• Experience in operating production applications on cloud and on premise
• Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming, and design patterns
• Some understanding of cloud-based data platforms such as GCP BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks is a plus
• Experience with development utilizing software development life cycle (SDLC) tools including Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift
• Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and attention to detail
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Committed, thoroughly analytical thinker with a strong sense of responsibility, knowing how to set priorities and keep a cool head in hot phases
• Nice to have Skill - Knowledge/Experience in VBA, Python or similar programming languages. CFA/CIPM verification.
• Strong communication skills, team spirit and an independent, careful way of working
