Lead Electrical Engineer Substation

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design and detailed engineering for HV overhead transmission lines, underground cables, and substations (AIS/GIS).
• Conduct calculations for induced voltages due to nearby HV lines and cable systems.
• Perform analysis of inductive and capacitive coupling in high voltage networks.
• Design earthing and bonding systems, including calculation of touch and step potentials.
• Analyze fault conditions in high voltage transmission grids.
• Prepare and review HV power cable systems, transmission line layouts, and substation designs.
• Develop and validate magnetic field studies and electromagnetic analysis using tools such as COMSOL, CDEGS, PSCAD, EMTP, or equivalent software.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, design reports, drawings, and bill of materials for HV systems.
• Estimate man-hours and support CTR preparation and tender document evaluation.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and transmission system operators for project execution and clarification processes.
• Manage and follow up on engineering deliverables, including CSS questionnaires and technical queries.
• Handle multidisciplinary engineering projects and provide technical guidance to designers and draughtsmen.
• Review project documentation and ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.
• Participate in site inspections, factory acceptance tests, and supplier evaluations.
• Support quality assurance documentation and ensure adherence to engineering processes.
