Job Description

Job Title - Lead EHS Compliance and System

Location - Nelamangala, Bangalore

Role Purpose

To support the Head EHS in driving a uniform, compliant, and high‑performance EHS framework across all breweries by providing strong governance, analytics, capability building, and risk oversight enabling consistent execution at site level and informed decision‑making by leadership.

Key Accountabilities

1. Safety Governance & Compliance Leadership

  • Establish and govern enterprise safety compliance frameworks, policies, and standards aligned to statutory, corporate, and global requirements
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations and global standards (e.g., ATEX, Ammonia, Electrical Safety, TPM Safety Pillar) across all breweries
  • Act as the single point of accountability for safety compliance assurance across the organisation
  • Support design and rollout of the India OpCo EHS strategy, aligned to global standards and supply chain priorities
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and deployment of EHS policies, standards, and programs across the breweries under India OpCo.

2. Safety Management Systems & Standardisation

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve Safety Management Systems inline with the internal standards
  • Own and govern standard operating procedures, guidelines, and global standards related to safety systems
  • Ensure consistency and standardisation of safety practices across breweries and warehouses
  • Govern statutory compliance across breweries including audits, inspections, notices, and closure tracking
  • Support risk assessment, mitigation planning, and escalation management for critical EHS risks

3. Critical Risk & Process Safety Management

  • Lead governance of high‑risk and process safety domains, including:
  • Explosive Atmospheres (ATEX)
  • Ammonia refrigeration safety Compliance
  • Contractor Safety Management
  • Ensure risk assessments, protection documents, and compliance actions are implemented and tracked

4. Audit, Assurance & Verification

  • Plan and oversee safety audits, self‑assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Review and validate audit findings, action plans, and risk closures
  • Provide assurance to leadership on compliance status and residual risk exposure

5. Incident Management & Learning Systems

  • Govern incident reporting, investigation, and root‑cause analysis systems (e.g., 5‑Why, PEEPO, 4M)
  • Ensure quality, neutrality, and consistency in incident investigations and reporting
  • Drive learning‑based corrective and preventive actions across the organisation
  • Own EHS dashboards, scorecards, and management review packs
  • Track trends, identify systemic gaps, and recommend enterprise‑level interventions
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting from all sites
  • Lead governance of all incidents and high‑potential near misses
  • Ensure quality RCFA, corrective actions, and cross‑site learning implementation

6. Data, Systems & Digital Safety Transformation

  • Own and enhance digital safety platforms for incident management, audits, and action tracking
  • Analyse leading and lagging safety indicators (TRIR, LTIR, near misses, BSI, compliance scores)
  • Drive data‑based decision‑making and performance transparency

7. Capability Building & Leadership Engagement

  • Support development of safety capability and system understanding across the breweries in India OpCo
  • Enable leadership visibility programs, governance routines, and system reviews
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to site safety managers and operational leaders

8. Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Engage with internal stakeholders including Operations, Engineering, TPM, Projects, Legal, Procurement, and HR
  • Coordinate with external subject matter experts, auditors, consultants, and regulatory bodies
  • Represent safety systems and compliance matters in leadership forums and reviews

  • Consistent EHS standards and compliance across 19 breweries
  • Strong incident prevention and risk management outcomes
  • Clear, actionable EHS insights for leadership review
  • Improved capability and maturity of site EHS teams
  • Enterprise safety compliance dashboards and reports
  • Updated global and local safety standards & procedures
  • Audit reports and verified action closure status
  • Incident investigation quality reviews and learning summaries
  • Process safety governance artifacts (EPDs, risk registers, compliance trackers)

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering / Science (Environmental, Safety, Chemical, Mechanical preferred)
  • Post‑graduate qualification in EHS / Industrial Safety / ADIS/ DIP from RLI/CLI
  • 12 to 16 years of EHS experience with multi‑site manufacturing exposure
  • Strong understanding of Indian EHS regulatory landscape
