About Us

AptEdge is an Agentic Technical Support platform for B2B Enterprises. Our AI-powered Answer Engine, unlike traditional search engines, utilizes natural language processing to provide contextually relevant and accurate answers to customer inquiries. This empowers support teams to resolve complex software issues with lightning-fast accuracy, reducing escalations and improving customer satisfaction and retention.

Our team comprises technology leaders with decades of experience solving pressing enterprise problems at companies like AppDynamics, Salesforce, Okta, and Splunk. We are backed by top Silicon Valley investors, including Unusual Ventures, National Grid Ventures, Stage 2, Counterpart Ventures, and various Angels and operators at leading firms. With many satisfied customers and rapid growth, we foster a culture of autonomy, empathy, and experimentation with new ideas, prioritizing clear, direct communication to respect everyone's time.

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer. This is a hands-on role where you will be the primary owner of our infrastructure, CI/CD pipeline, and DevX (developer experience). You'll have exciting opportunities to fundamentally impact the product and the business.

About You

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Approximately 7 years of hands-on experience in a dedicated DevOps role.
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or comparable cloud services.
  • Expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and associated tooling, or similar orchestration substitutes.
  • Hands-on coding skills (unassisted by AI) in backend languages and frameworks such as Python, Java/C++, or Go.
  • Experience with GitOps methodologies, with a preference for ArgoCD exposure.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Github Actions, Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with relational databases like Postgres.
  • Experience with configuration/synchronization services and advanced cache stores, such as Redis.
  • Prior experience successfully shipping multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

You are a great fit because you are

  • A solid problem solver
  • Interested in joining an early stage startup
  • Pragmatic and methodical
  • A clear communicator and collaborator
  • A great teammate
  • Favour execution over planning

In this role you will

  • Build and maintain the AptEdge infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
  • Build and maintain the AptEdge CI/CD pipeline
  • Build and maintain DevX (developer experience) for local development involving minikube clusters
  • Contribute to product architecture discussions
  • Cross-functional team collaboration

Nice to haves

  • Experience with ElasticSearch
  • Experience Terraform
  • Strong understanding of how highly secure, distributed, resilient software works

Preparing for the interview

Come ready to demonstrate your technical skills hands-on. A few things to keep in mind:

Any technology you've listed on your resume is fair game for discussion or practical assessment. Only include what you're genuinely comfortable working with.

You will be tested thoroughly on every topic mentioned in the About You section above. We expect depth, not just familiarity.

AI-assisted coding tools are not permitted during the interview. We're evaluating your actual knowledge and problem-solving ability. If you don't have real hands-on experience with the core skills for this role, it's likely not the right fit.

Interview Process

Our process typically includes four stages:

Recruiter Screen: A brief call to discuss your background, interest in the role, and answer any initial questions you have about the company.

Initial Screen: A non-technical conversation to learn more about your experience, working style, and what you're looking for in your next role.

Technical Interviews: Three separate sessions of 4560 minutes each, covering the skills and topics outlined in this posting. Expect a mix of problem-solving, system design, and hands-on technical discussion.

Closing Call: A final conversation to address any remaining questions, discuss next steps, and ensure mutual fit.
