Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).

  • Establish, Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Pump.

  • Provide Oracle DBA support including patching databases and partitioning tables.

  • Perform database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.

  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.

  • Automate routine tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Ansible.

  • Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries for optimal application response times.

  • Conduct capacity planning and proactively manage database growth.

  • Manage user access, roles, and security compliance.

  • Automates common database management tasks.

  • Participate in troubleshooting, escalation, Oracle Support interaction, and resolution on time for Production Issues.

  • Creating documentation, maintenance plans, assigning and monitoring threshold values

  • Eventually transition to a Data Engineer role, supporting Data Warehouse and BI processes (combination of Linux shell scripts, Snowflake SQL, ADF)

  • Develop and/or enhance Linux and Snowflake SQL scripts supporting Data Warehouse and BI processes based on requirements.

  • Participate in development and support of ETL pipelines

  • Meets with onsite team to gather requirements and convert them into well-designed and documented software components based on Data Warehouse technologies.

  • Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24x7 support for critical systems.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.

  • Hands-On Experience managing Oracle 19c databases

  • Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.

  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

  • Experience with ASM configuration and administration

  • Experience with table partitioning and reorg in Oracle

  • Knowledge of indexes, analyzing query plans for performance tuning

  • Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager preferred

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, or Azure) is a plus.

  • 2+ years development experience with Unix/Linux Shell scripting

  • Experience with ETL tools like SSIS and/or ADF will be a plus

  • Some experience with Power BI will be a plus

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and self-learning ability.

  • Effective problem-solving, communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
