Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant - Risk Analyst
The Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks. This role involves analyzing data, preparing reports, and collaborating with various departments to ensure effective risk management practices are in place. The Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in helping the organization manage potential risks that could impact its operations, reputation, or financial performance.
Responsibilities
1. Risk Governance & Lifecycle Management
.This function focuses on the core process of managing risks from identification through to ongoing monitoring within the established governance framework.
.Identify and Assess Risks: Proactively assist in the identification and evaluation of risks across all business units, analyzing their potential impact on organizational operations.
.Manage Risk Register: Support the complete risk governance lifecycle by ensuring risks are accurately documented, maintained, and updated in the enterprise risk register.
.Link Risks to Controls: Ensure clear traceability by linking identified risks to the applicable internal policies and controls within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform (e.g., AuditBoard).
.Monitor Risk Landscape: Conduct ongoing monitoring of documented risks to ensure assessments remain current and reflect changes in the business or external environment.
2. Data Analysis & Insights
.This area centers on using data to inform risk assessment and decision-making.
.Quantitative Risk Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to various risk factors, using statistical methods and software tools to quantify risk.
.Identify Trends: Analyze data to identify emerging risk trends, assess the likelihood and potential impact of risks, and provide data-driven insights.
3. Risk Mitigation & Strategy
.This function involves the proactive development and implementation of strategies to manage and reduce identified risks.
.Develop Mitigation Strategies: Support the design and implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with relevant departments.
.Monitor Strategy Effectiveness: Track and monitor the performance of implemented risk mitigation strategies, suggesting improvements or adjustments as needed.
.Facilitate Action Item Closure: Partner with stakeholders to follow up on risk-related action items, helping to ensure timely closure and enhance the organization%27s control environment.
4. Policy & Compliance Management
.This area ensures the organization%27s risk framework aligns with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
.Coordinate Policy Lifecycle: Manage policy administration activities, including drafting updates, maintaining version control, and tracking the policy review and approval process.
.Monitor Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring the organization%27s risk management practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and report any deviations.
.Track Policy Exceptions: Support policy compliance and exception tracking by assisting with evidence collection for audits and monitoring the status of remediation plans.
5. Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration
.This function focuses on communication, documentation, and fostering a risk-aware culture across the organization.
.Prepare Risk Reports: Develop and prepare clear risk reports, dashboards, and governance artifacts for management and leadership, highlighting key risks, trends, and actionable recommendations.
.Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with other departments, including Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations, to gather information, assess risks, and implement mitigation plans.
.Maintain Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation is maintained for all risk assessments, mitigation strategies, compliance activities, and policy acknowledgements.
.Promote Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging risks to contribute ideas for enhancing the organization's overall risk management framework and processes.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
.Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
.Relevant years of experience in risk analysis, risk management, or a related field.
.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
.Familiarity with risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
.Proficiency in data analysis and risk management software (e.g., Excel, SAS, R, Python).
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
.Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Analyst (CRA) or related certifications are a plus.
