Job Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of airport facilities, combining strong architectural expertise to deliver innovative, functional, and efficient aviation facilities. Participation in all project phases, from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with international aviation standards and alignment with client and operator requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the architectural design and development of airport terminals, concourses, passenger facilities, and support facilities and aviation infrastructure.
- Translate functional and operational requirements into clear and buildable design solutions.
- Ensure compliance with international aviation regulations and standards (ICAO, IATA, FAA, etc.).
- Develop and review design drawings, BIM models, and technical specifications.
- Coordination with MEP, structural, civil, and specialist consultants (baggage handling, security, wayfinding, sustainability).
- Manage design packages and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Support in managing budgets, schedules, and quality control.
- Participate in design presentations, client workshops, and coordination meetings.
- Liaise with clients, airport operators, and authorities to gather requirements and feedback.
- Prepare and deliver clear design presentations and technical documentation for approvals.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with aviation and safety standards.
- Support and guide junior architects and technician within the aviation practice.
- Contribute to the establishment of design standards, knowledge sharing, and technical best practices.
- Promote collaboration across offices and international aviation teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- 8-10 years of professional architectural experience, with significant focus on aviation projects.
- Strong knowledge of passenger terminal planning, airport operations, and aviation systems integration.
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects with global or regional airports preferred.
- Proficiency in design and BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, BIM360, Navisworks).
- Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills.
