Senior Engineer – Estimation Contract

Job Summary
The Senior Engineer – Estimation Contract is responsible for leading cost estimation, tendering, and contract management activities for civil construction projects. The role involves preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing contract conditions, managing risks, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure cost efficiency and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management
- Ensure legal and commercial compliance of all contracts
- Analyze contract terms and conditions to identify risks and mitigation strategies
- Manage contract amendments, variation orders, and claims
- Maintain proper documentation and records of all contractual communications
- Support dispute resolution and ensure adherence to contractual obligations
- Estimation Tendering
- Analyze drawings, BOQs, specifications, and scope documents for accurate cost estimation
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and project budgets
- Develop costing strategies and competitive pricing for tenders
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and execution teams for inputs
- Manage tender submissions, clarifications, and post-bid negotiations
- Coordination Reporting
- Work closely with project managers, consultants, and clients
- Assist in budget tracking, cost control, and financial planning
- Prepare MIS reports, estimation summaries, and cost analysis reports
Key Skills Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (Item Rate, Lump Sum, Turnkey, etc.)
- Expertise in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis
- Understanding of billing processes, GST, and project cash flow
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and documentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), AutoCAD, and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering
- 5–10 years of experience in estimation and contract management for construction projects
Preferred Experience
- Experience in residential, commercial, or high-rise projects
- Exposure to tendering and large-scale project estimation
- Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech)
- Diploma in Civil Engineering may be acceptable for candidates with strong experience
- Master's Degree in Construction Management / Civil Engineering is a plus
