About the Role
The Lead Analog Design Engineer will be responsible for the architecture and design of analog subsystems within mixed-signal SoCs. The role involves close collaboration with system architecture, digital design, verification, and layout teams to define specifications and ensure successful silicon implementation.
This position also includes technical leadership responsibilities such as guiding a small team of engineers, planning deliverables, and supporting silicon validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Analog Architecture & Design
- Define architecture and specifications for analog subsystems used in mixed-signal SoCs.
- Translate system-level requirements into circuit-level design specifications.
- Design analog circuits optimized for performance, power consumption, and silicon area.
Circuit Design & Simulation
- Perform transistor-level circuit design and simulation using Cadence tools.
- Evaluate circuit performance across PVT corners, mismatch, and reliability conditions.
- Analyze non-ideal transistor behaviors such as noise, parasitics, mismatch, ageing, breakdown, and short-channel effects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with digital design, verification, and architecture teams to ensure correct integration of analog blocks within the SoC.
- Communicate layout requirements and constraints to layout engineers to ensure design accuracy.
Technical Leadership
- Lead and guide a team of 35 analog design engineers.
- Plan tasks, track deliverables, and ensure timely completion of design milestones.
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical design work.
Silicon Debug & Validation
- Support silicon bring-up and laboratory debugging for functional or performance issues.
- Analyze validation results and present findings to engineering teams.
Documentation
- Prepare detailed design documentation, simulation reports, and validation summaries.
Required Qualifications
- 710 years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design.
- Hands-on experience in analog design for mixed-signal SoCs or analog ICs.
- Strong understanding of analog circuits and chip-level integration.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso analog design environment.
- Experience designing several analog building blocks such as:
- Differential amplifiers
- Transconductance amplifiers
- Comparators
- Bandgap references
- Power-on-Reset circuits
- Current mirrors and bias circuits
- LDO regulators
- PLL blocks
- ADC / DAC circuits
Education
Bachelor's / Master's / PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
