Summary/Objective
The Model Risk Management (MRM) provides oversight for the MRM Framework, which consists of the policy, processes, and procedures. The Lead Advisor Model Risk Management (MRM) Governance & PMO will be a part of FCI's Model Governance team within the Model Risk Management (MRM) department and will be responsible for leading a variety of activities around the model lifecycle, inventory management, and reporting.
You will be based out of First Citizens India (FCI) office in Bangalore, report into the Associate Director of Model Risk Management, India, and function as an integral member of the global MRM organization. The role will work collaboratively with the global MRM leadership team and act as their point of contact in India.
The role will manage a team of resources with strong MRM reporting and monitoring experience and skills, partners with global stakeholders to establish effective collaboration and partnership to build and manage talent capabilities. Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain model governance documentation and performance monitoring, including periodically presenting results to MRM Leadership.
- Supports the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the MRM analytics and reporting capabilities within the MRM Team, as well as broader risk management framework.
- Explore and assess new technologies and tools that can optimize MRM processes and effectiveness.
- Develops tools, visualizations, and dashboards to provide insights at scale to inform risk profile and solves for analytical needs. Facilitates implementation of work product.
- Collaborates with cross-functional partners, data, and product owners to gather insights, understand risk reporting strategies and business needs to inform the development of MRM process enhancements and process simplification.
- Maintain a strong month end data process which includes multiple layers of presentations and stakeholder review. Must maintain a deep understanding of model risk data and reporting.
- Drives automation efforts to simplify and streamline MRM processes.
- Performs end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations to Senior Management and the Board
- Complete various data quality reviews and checks on information within the Archer Model Inventory.
- Facilitates communication and builds effective working relationships with key business stakeholders and risk owners.
- Perform independent control testing on end user computing tools using SAS, Excel, Python, Access, etc.,
- Assists MRM Leadership with ad-hoc MRM analysis, projects, presentations, and/or reporting.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in model validation and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the enhancement of the model validation framework by suggesting process improvements and implementing industry-leading methodologies.
- Use subject matter expertise and analytics to proactively identify and address gaps and identify emerging risks.
- Contribute towards remediation efforts for model-related issues identified through exams, audits, and model validations.

- Good understanding of regulatory requirements, particularly those related to stress testing and capital planning: SR 11-7/ OCC 2011-12

Education
Required Education and Experience
- Relevant Bachelor/ Master's degree, with preference for specialization in Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in model development, model validation, or model implementation within the financial industry; Proficiency in statistical methods (e.g., linear regression, logistic regression, survival analysis, ARIMA) and programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python, R, SQL)
- Knowledge of statistical and machine learning models.
- Good understanding of model development and validation testing techniques
- Knowledge of financial services/ banking domain
