The role is responsible for endtoend planning and availability of Packaging Materials (Laminates, Cartons, BOPP Tape) across 4 CompanyOwned Sites (COSO) and 16 CoPackers, ensuring uninterrupted production, optimal inventory levels, and minimum writeoff risk. The role works closely with Supply Planning, Plants, Procurement, Vendors, and GP teams to execute MRP, manage inventory health, and support SKU transitions.

Responsibilities
Packaging Material Planning & Forecasting
Forecast packaging material requirements based on approved production plans and sales forecasts
Translate supply plans into executable material plans for Laminates, Cartons, and BOPP
Coordinate closely with Supply Planners, Production Planners, and Plant teams to align material plans with production schedules
Inventory Management
Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid production stoppages, excess inventory, or expiry risk
Monitor daily inventory positions across plants and copackers and highlight risks proactively
Track and control slowmoving and obsolete packaging material to minimize writeoff exposure
Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
Execute weekly MRP runs in SAP and convert PRs to POs in coordination with Procurement
Strengthen SAP MRP discipline by improving master data, lot sizing, lead times, and safety parameters
Plan replenishment cycles in line with production cadence and supplier capabilities
Procurement & Vendor Coordination
Work closely with Procurement teams for timely PO placement and followups
Coordinate with vendors to ensure adherence to delivery schedules and quantities
Support tracking of supplier performance on OTIF and quality issues
Production & Operations Support
Ensure timely availability of packaging materials ahead of production start
Resolve shortages, urgent material requirements, or allocation challenges in coordination with plants, vendors, and GP
Support smooth execution during demand spikes, changeovers, and constrained scenarios
SLOB & Financial Risk Management
Lead weekly Partner SLOB reviews with Finance and Plant teams
Identify writeoff risks early and drive mitigation actions such as consumption acceleration, redistribution, or alternate usage
Minimize writeoff impact during packaging changeovers and SKU transitions
SKU Transition & Change Management
Support packaging material transitions during NPDs, renovations, or SKU rationalization
Ensure controlled runout of old materials and timely induction of new packs
Coordinate approvals and readiness with QA, Procurement, and Plant teams
Quality & Compliance
Ensure packaging materials comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for material approvals, trials, and issue resolution
Cost Optimization
Optimize InterUnit Transfers (IUTs) to balance service and freight cost
Support costsaving initiatives such as alternate sourcing, bulk planning, and inventory rationalization
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare and publish weekly material connectivity reports highlighting availability, risks, and actions
Track consumption trends, inventory health, shortages, and MRP effectiveness
Support continuous improvement in planning accuracy and process efficiency
KPIs (PERFORMANCE METRICS)
Packaging material availability (zero production stoppages due to PM shortages)
Reduction in Packaging SLOB and writeoff cost
Supplier OTIF and adherence to delivery schedules
SAP MRP adherence and planning hygiene KPIs
Support to overall service KPIs – DC, OFR, MPS, SA
Qualifications
3-4 years of experience in Material Planning / Supply Chain / Inventory Management, preferably in FMCG / Food Manufacturing environment
Bachelor's Degree ; MBA in Operations or Supply Chain preferred
Handson experience in Material Planning, Prefer Packaging Material (Laminates, Cartons, BOPP or similar materials)
Strong working knowledge of SAP MRP, including PR generation, PO tracking, and inventory management
Experience working with multiple manufacturing locations (CompanyOwned Plants and CoPackers)
Exposure to SLOB management, inventory ageing control, and writeoff risk mitigation
Proven ability to coordinate crossfunctionally with Supply Planning, Plants, Procurement, Finance, QA, Vendors, and GP teams
Comfortable working in a highvolume, fastchanging planning environment with multiple SKUs and frequent transitions
Strong analytical and planning skills
Effective communication and coordination skills across crossfunctional teams
