Position OverviewWe are seeking dedicated and technically skilled Lab Assistants to support the smooth functioning of our Computer Science laboratories. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with programming environments, system maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. They will assist faculty during lab sessions and ensure that all lab resources are well-maintained and operational.
Key Responsibilities- Compile, run, and debug C programs using GCC or similar compilers.
- Maintain laboratory records, attendance, and data logs using MS Excel, including formatting and basic data management.
- Perform system setup and configuration, including OS installation and routine maintenance checks.
- Troubleshoot hardware and peripheral issues in lab systems.
- Create and run basic shell/automation scripts for day-to-day lab tasks.
- Assist faculty during lab sessions by providing technical support to students.
- Manage, organize, and maintain lab equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
- Follow safety and security protocols within the laboratory environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Practical experience in compiling and executing C programs.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel (data entry, formatting, basic formulas).
- Basic understanding of operating systems and system installation.
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and replacement of components.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Batch, or Python).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support users effectively.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in an academic lab environment.
- Knowledge of Linux-based systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with faculty members.
