Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned
L3 Fortinet SD-WAN Engineer to design, deploy, and support advanced
Secure SD-WAN solutions. The role involves handling complex enterprise network environments for European clients, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal WAN performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in
Fortinet technologies, routing protocols, and network security, along with strong incident management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Deployment: Lead the design and implementation of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN solutions, including site-to-site VPN overlays, SD-WAN policies, and SLA-based performance configurations.
- Advanced Troubleshooting (L3): Perform deep-dive analysis of complex network issues using tools like Wireshark and Fortinet diagnostics to ensure rapid resolution.
- Centralized Network Management: Configure and manage environments using FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for policy control, monitoring, and reporting.
- Security Integration: Implement and integrate FortiGate firewall policies, NAT, and secure routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IPsec VPN) within SD-WAN architecture.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor WAN health and proactively optimize SD-WAN links to ensure high availability and performance.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, SOPs, and incident reports.
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership to L1/L2 engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams on network initiatives.
Required Technical Skills
- Fortinet Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with FortiGate (FortiOS) and SD-WAN solutions.
- Networking & Security: Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and security protocols (IPsec VPN, NAT).
- Tools & Platforms: Experience with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and Wireshark.
- Network Infrastructure: Knowledge of MPLS, ISP links, and Internet Leased Lines (ILL).
- Automation (Good to Have): Basic exposure to Python or Ansible for network automation.
Certifications & Experience- Experience: 8+ years in enterprise networking and security environments.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Fortinet NSE (Level 5-7)
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or higher

- Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
