Key Responsibilities (Job Description):
1.Storage Infrastructure Design: Design and architect storage solutions that meet the organization's performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
2.Storage Implementation: Install, configure, and deploy storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network-Attached Storage), and object storage platforms.
3.Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring seamless movement of data between storage systems while minimizing disruption.
4.Storage Performance Optimization: Monitor storage performance and proactively optimize storage resources to meet performance demands.
5.Data Backup and Recovery: Design and implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.
6.Storage Security: Implement and maintain storage security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data retention policies.
7.Capacity Planning: Analyze storage utilization and forecast future storage needs to facilitate capacity planning and avoid storage shortages.
8.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues, such as disk failures, connectivity problems, or performance bottlenecks.
9.Storage Monitoring: Set up and maintain storage monitoring systems to promptly identify and address potential storage-related problems.
10.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies.
11.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, network, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support for data storage solutions.
12.Vendor Management: Work with storage hardware and software vendors to procure storage equipment, obtain technical support, and stay updated on the latest storage technologies.

•Storage Incident Resolution Time: Target: <1 hour
Measurement: Average time taken by the specialist to resolve storage-related incidents reported by users or monitoring systems.
•Storage Availability: Target: >99.9%
Measurement: Percentage of time the storage systems are operational and available to users without interruptions or downtime.
•Storage Security Compliance: Target: >95%
Measurement: Percentage of storage devices and configurations compliant with security policies and industry standards.
•First-Time Fix Rate (FTFR): Target: >90%
Measurement: Percentage of storage issues resolved by the specialist during the initial support interaction without escalations or rework.
•Storage Performance Optimization: Target: <5% latency, >90% IOPS target
Measurement: Metrics like latency and IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) to indicate storage system responsiveness and performance.

Measurement: Average time taken to restore data from backups or snapshots in case of data loss or system failure.

Background:
•Education:
oBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
oAssociate degree or Diploma in Computer Networking, Storage Administration, data management
Experience:
o5 to 7 years Storage Administration Experience or as per requirement
oExperience in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
oProficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
oKnowledge of network security principles and best practices.
oFamiliarity with virtualization and cloud networking concepts (e.g., VMware NSX, AWS VPC, Azure Networking) is advantageous.
oExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex network issues.
oStrong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
oAbility to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of storage technologies, such as SAN, NAS, RAID, and object storage.
Experience with storage area network fabric technologies, including Fiber Channel and iSCSI.
Knowledge of storage virtualization and software-defined storage concepts.
Proficiency in storage management tools and software, such as EMC Unity, NetApp On Command, or similar.
Familiarity with data backup and recovery solutions, including tape libraries, disk-based backups, and cloud-based backup services.
Understanding of data deduplication, compression, and data lifecycle management.
Knowledge of storage security principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve storage-related issues.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
•Functional
Should have Hands on experience in Tools like, JIRA, Service Now or any other customer tools.
Related scripting languages and integration, and/or orchestration tools such as: Python, Perl, Ansible, Microsoft Power BI, Spectrum Protect, Splunk.
