L2 Network Engineer

We are looking for a skilled L2 Network Engineer to support and troubleshoot an enterprise telecom network built on Cisco routing and switching infrastructure. The candidate will handle escalated incidents from L1, perform configuration changes, Maintain network uptime SLA and ensure high network availability.

Responsibilities

• Handle L2 escalations related to routing & switching issues
• Troubleshoot VLAN, trunking, STP, and inter-VLAN routing problems
• Diagnose routing protocol issues (exceptional case)
• Remotely perform configuration changes on Cisco routers and switches
• Remotely analyse interface errors, latency, packet drops, and link flaps
• Implement approved configuration changes independently
• Work closely with L3 team during major outages
• Maintain network uptime SLA

Qualifications

Technical Skills Required (Mandatory)

Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS CLI

Experience in NOC / 24x7 support model (Preferred)

Telecom network exposure (optional)

Good understanding of:

VLANs, Trunking (802.1Q)

STP / RSTP

Inter-VLAN routing

Static & dynamic routing

Basic understanding of network redundancy

Subnetting proficiency

Knowledge of monitoring tools (Zabbix)

Certification (Not Mandatory but Preferred)

CCNA (preferred)

CCNP Enterprise (added advantage)
