Kubernetes Escalations Engineer

The Cloud Developer builds cloud solutions from the ground up to support mission-critical applications. This role focuses on designing and implementing innovative, end-to-end cloud-based solutions that solve complex customer problems while enriching HPE's Cloud Services portfolio across platforms and systems.

What You'll Do:

Cloud Solution Architecture & Development:

• Design and develop reliable, scalable, cost-effective, and high-quality cloud solutions.
• Engineer end-to-end cloud-based systems, from prototyping through production deployment.
• Break down complex data and technical challenges to design effective cloud architectures.

Technical Leadership & Innovation:

• Provide guidance and leadership on high-risk technical decisions and system design trade-offs.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, ensuring alignment with technology roadmaps and business value.
• Create integration plans to incorporate new innovations into existing architectures.

Design Review & Quality Assurance:

• Review system designs and project activities for compliance with development standards and best practices.
• Provide actionable feedback to improve product quality and reduce operational and failure risks.

Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing:

• Mentor engineers by setting examples of excellence in software system design and cloud development.
• Contribute to organizational learning through technical leadership and best-practice sharing.

Problem Analysis & Resolution:

• Analyze engineering, operational, and business data to solve complex application, infrastructure, and networking problems.
• Address system administration and network-level issues in cloud environments.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related quantitative discipline.
• Typically 1015 years of relevant industry experience.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, and Golang.
• Advanced Kubernetes knowledge; CKA, CKAD, or CKS certifications preferred.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
• Solid TCP/IP networking knowledge with hands-on troubleshooting using tcpdump and Wireshark.
• Proficiency in cloud security concepts including IAM, firewalls, VPNs, and in-plane switching systems.
• Ability to articulate cloud architectures and design proposals to technical and senior stakeholders.
