Title: Key Account Manager - Lead

Location - Noida, Mumbai & Bangalore

About the team:

Paytm payment gateway enables thousands of online merchants to offer world class frictionless payment experience to their customers. We are present across large enterprises and startups including well known unicorns alike. We strive to take payments beyond an enabler and an instrument to drive revenue and user growth for our merchants. Online Payment Gateway is Paytm's B2B Business regulated by RBI as it allows only authorized entities to conduct PA PG (Payment Aggregator Payment Gateway) business. This team is responsible for growing the penetration of Paytm's PA PG business in the Indian merchants. The Business Payments team is responsible for designing disbursal solutions for large and mid-sized corporates for their vendor/ customers/ channel partners/employees. The team also plays a key role in tax saving solutions for employees of top corporates.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager Lead to head and grow our merchant account management function. The role requires strategic ownership of enterprise client relationships, leading a team of KAMs, and driving revenue through strong account retention, upsell, and cross-sell initiatives in the digital payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of enterprise hunters responsible for acquiring large merchants for Paytm's payment gateway and payment solutions.
  • Drive new enterprise merchant acquisition by identifying and targeting high-value merchants across industries such as e-commerce, travel, gaming, marketplaces, digital platforms, and large enterprises.
  • Develop and execute strategic hunting plans to penetrate priority merchant segments and unlock new revenue streams.
  • Build relationships with CXOs, founders, and senior decision-makers to drive new partnerships and enterprise deals.
  • Own and manage a strong enterprise sales pipeline, ensuring consistent deal flow and conversion.
  • Lead end-to-end enterprise sales cycles including solution pitching, proposal development, commercial negotiations, contract closures, and merchant onboarding.
  • Drive adoption of Paytm's payment ecosystem including UPI, Cards, Net Banking, Wallets, BNPL, Payment Gateway APIs, and POS solutions.
  • Work closely with product, technology, and integration teams to deliver customized payment solutions for enterprise merchants.
  • Identify new market opportunities and strategic merchant partnerships to accelerate growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to refine acquisition strategy.
  • Ensure strong merchant activation and early transaction growth after onboarding.
  • Deliver against new merchant acquisition targets, revenue growth, and payment volume KPIs.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Engineering graduate / post graduate from a reputed institute.
  • 812 years of experience in enterprise sales, merchant acquisition, or business development within Payments, Fintech, or BFSI.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience leading enterprise sales / hunting teams.
  • Proven track record of closing large enterprise deals and driving new merchant acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of payment gateway ecosystem, APIs, integrations, risk frameworks, and settlement processes.
  • Ability to build CXO relationships and open doors for strategic partnerships.
  • Strong negotiation, commercial, and deal-closing capabilities.
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly target-driven mindset with a strong focus on revenue growth and new business acquisition.
