Junior Graphic Designer
Company: Salt
Location: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience:1–2 years
About the Role
We're looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join salt's creative team. This is a hands-on, varied role — you'll move across packaging, social media, and retail collateral on any given week, so we need someone versatile, fast, and detail-obsessed. Comfort with AI design tools is a must, as we use them to speed up ideation and production without compromising on quality.
What You'll Do
- Design packaging artwork and dielines in collaboration with the product and production teams
- Create social media creatives — static posts, carousels, stories, and short-form video assets — aligned with brand guidelines and campaign calendars
- Develop retail collateral including in-store posters, shelf talkers, standees, banners, and POS materials
- Support photoshoots and content shoots with mood boards, shot lists, and on-ground creative direction when needed
- Use AI design tools (e.g., Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Canva AI, ChatGPT/Claude for ideation) to accelerate concepting, mockups, and iteration cycles
- Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints — color, typography, tone, and visual identity
- Manage multiple design requests simultaneously, prioritizing based on deadlines and business impact
- Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and external vendors/printers to ensure design intent translates accurately to final output
- Stay current with design trends, packaging innovations, and emerging AI creative tools
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years of professional graphic design experience (agency, brand, or in-house)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating range across packaging, digital/social, and print/retail collateral
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Figma is a plus
- Working knowledge of AI design and productivity tools, with genuine interest in using them to improve workflow speed and creative output
- Solid understanding of print production basics (dielines, bleed, CMYK, file prep for vendors)
- Eye for typography, color, layout, and brand consistency
- Ability to take feedback well and iterate quickly under tight timelines
- Good communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and external partners
- A degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Nice to Have
- Basic motion graphics or video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere, CapCut)
- Prior experience in FMCG, D2C, or retail/CPG brands
- Familiarity with packaging regulatory/labeling requirements
What You'll Get
- A fast-paced, hands-on role with real ownership across multiple design verticals
- Exposure to end-to-end brand building from shelf to screen
- A team that's genuinely curious about AI tools and open to experimenting with new workflows
