Junior Engineer - Mechanical

Job Description

Job Purpose

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues in furnaces, rolling mills, conveyors, cranes, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems.
• Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, and calibration of machinery.
• Support production teams during machine changeovers, shutdowns, and emergencies.
• Maintain and update maintenance logs, checklists, and spare parts records.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Follow all plant safety rules, participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, equipment improvement, and efficiency enhancement.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with vendors or contractors for specialized repair tasks.

Required Skills (Points)

• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Hands-on skills in welding, fabrication, and basic machining (preferred).
• Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and Kaizen systems (advantage).
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts if required.
