Job Description

Company Description

Numerix Design Private Limited provides high-quality engineering simulation and design services to global clients across industrial equipment, process, HVAC, energy, and built-environment applications. We focus on strong fundamentals, engineering judgment, and reliable delivery.

Role Description

We are hiring a Junior CFD Engineer (02 yrs) to work on CFD projects. You'll support senior engineers on real industrial simulations, build strong fundamentals, and learn best practices in meshing, solver setup, validation, and professional reporting.

This is a full-time on-site role located in Bengaluru for a CFD Engineer. We are looking for a CFD Engineer who can independently execute end-to-end CFD projectsfrom problem understanding and meshing to solver setup, validation, post-processing, and reporting. You'll work on challenging transient multiphase and industrial flow problems and directly contribute to client outcomes through accurate, well-documented simulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in end-to-end CFD execution: geometry cleanup meshing setup solve post-process report
  • Work on DPM-based simulations: particle injection setup, tracking, residence time, deposition/erosion indicators (as needed), and interpretation
  • Set up and run transient simulations with correct time-step logic and convergence monitoring
  • Prepare meshes and check quality (skewness, orthogonality, inflation layers, y+)
  • Apply turbulence models (k- / k- SST primarily) with correct near-wall treatment
  • Extract and present results: pressure drop, velocity profiles, particle paths, capture efficiency, mixing patterns, etc.
  • Maintain structured case folders, naming conventions, checklists, and documentation
  • Communicate progress clearly and flag risks early (mesh issues, divergence, unrealistic BCs)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • BE/BTech/ME/MTech in Mechanical/Aerospace or related field
  • Strong knowledge of:
  1. Fluid mechanics, turbulence, convection/conduction, pressure losses
  2. Numerical methods basics (stability, discretization, convergence)
  • Hands-on experience with ANSYS Fluent (model setup + troubleshooting) or OpenFOAM
  • Good meshing practice and quality control (y+, skewness, orthogonality, inflation layers)
  • Strong post-processing capability (CFD-Post, Fluent, ParaView, Tecplot)
  • Ability to write clear, structured reports and explain results to non-experts

Good to Have (Preferred)

  • Experience with transient multiphase DPM, slurry/solid-liquid mixing, fluidization, cyclone/filters, separators
  • Experience with UDFs (Fluent) or scripting/automation (Python, journal files)
  • OpenFOAM experience (especially transient, multiphase, conjugate heat transfer)
  • HPC exposure: running parallel jobs, basic Linux, cluster/job scheduling concepts
  • Familiarity with industry standards and QA workflows (templates, checklists, peer review)

Why Join Numerix Design

  • Work on real industrial problems with global exposure
  • Strong focus on engineering quality (not cheap runs)
  • Opportunity to grow into Lead Engineer / Project Owner roles
  • Build expertise in advanced CFD (transient + multiphase + automation)

How to Apply

Email/submit :: [Confidential Information]

  1. Resume
  2. Notice period
  3. Expected CTC
  4. One sample (academic/project) CFD report or screenshots of setup/results (if available)
