The Junior Architect will get to lead our efforts in bringing about this change all the while getting an exposure to and working with worldwide stalwarts and leaders in these technologies.
| About the role:
Junior Architect will be responsible for visualising and designing exemplar passive solar heated buildings that besides serving their purpose at HIAL will also be prototypes for the world to learn from while keeping the energy needs and cost at control. S/He is expected to design and execute RD to achieve these goals and liaison with the enterprise arm to develop ready to deploy designs. Additionally, s/he will have an eye to ensure correct implementation of the design on ground in while sticking with timelines and cost constraints. With research bend of mind, he/she will be contributing towards RD in construction field.
Responsibilities:
- Researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials and systems.
- Visualises and make designs of building, ensure accuracy of the drawings
- Ensuring correctness in execution of the drawings.
- Ensuring risk and mitigating them for correctness.
- Processing of design on site
- Working with the Project Manager, may direct, supervise, and check activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
- Interfaces with Senior Architect and project manager.
- Works in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams.
- Prepare and documentation of all the needed documents properly throughout the project life cycle until the project close and handed over.
- Adhere to organisation safety policy and promote safety work culture.
- Be a team player and work with construction and project team.
- Inspect the construction site to ensure the appropriate level of quality control in all the phases.
- Communicate and coordinate with structural engineers to ensure structural fidelity.
- Coordinate with contractors, and all other stakeholders.
- Report to the Project Manager and ensuring correctness of BOQ.
- Responsible for timely completion of the projects while working in coordination with project team.
- Responsible for relatable RD with SHEON projects in the spear of work.
- Document and Maintain records of all construction dates and project costs.
- Perform the tasks delegated by the Senior Management and other responsibilities that helps HIAL grow.
- Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Educational Background:
- Bachelor s Degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Environmental Design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed architect with green building experience will be given preference
- Proficient in Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft office suit or other 3D modelling software that enables effective communication of design
- Knowledge of sustainable infrastructure
- Ability to provide elegant and efficient design solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work under indirect supervision
- Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
- Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
- Technically creative and open-minded
Preferred Work Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Sustainable Infrastructure like Rammed Earth and other such sustainable earth building will be an added experience
- Prior design and implementation of design experience
- Professionalism in execution on ground and coordinating with different team members
- Strong verbal and written skills
- An eye to detailing, keen observer for composition, colour and layout
