Junior Architect

Role Description The Architect role at Formworld AID is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The Architect will be responsible for developing design concepts, preparing architectural and interior layouts, and producing detailed drawings and documentation. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with clients to understand requirements, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring that designs comply with relevant codes and standards. The role involves overseeing design integration across disciplines, supporting project planning and scheduling, and participating in site visits to monitor progress and resolve design-related issues. The Architect will work closely with contractors and consultants to ensure that design intent is maintained throughout the execution phase.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate client requirements into practical, creative solutions.
• Experience with Integration of design elements across architecture, interiors, and related disciplines to ensure cohesive project outcomes.
• Proficiency in Project Management, including coordination with stakeholders, timeline management, and documentation control.
• Familiarity with Software Development concepts or collaboration with software teams for design tools, digital workflows, or integrated project platforms is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited institution, with relevant professional experience in architectural and interior projects.
• Competence in industry-standard design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) and basic proficiency in office productivity tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and interact professionally with clients and contractors.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices in Chennai or the broader region.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment.
