Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and identify potential social risks and impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental and Social Frameworks (ESF), Performance Standards, and safeguard policies.
  • Prepare and implement Resettlement Action Plans (RAP) and Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRP).
  • Engage with stakeholders, including local communities, NGOs, and vulnerable groups through structured consultations.
  • Develop and monitor Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP) and grievance redress mechanisms (GRM).
  • Ensure protection of indigenous peoples, marginalized communities, and gender equality considerations.
  • Monitor labor and working conditions in line with international labor standards.
  • Integrate community health, safety, and security measures into project planning.
  • Facilitate land acquisition processes ensuring fair compensation and transparency.
  • Conduct social audits, reporting, and documentation as per lender requirements.
  • Build capacity of project teams on social safeguards and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with government agencies and funding institutions for approvals and reporting.
  • Track key social performance indicators and prepare periodic monitoring reports.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in social risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualification & Experience

  • Master's degree in Social Sciences / Sociology / Social Work / Development Studies or related field.
  • Minimum 24 years of experience in infrastructure, construction, or development sector projects.
  • Proven experience working with multilateral funding agencies (WB, IFC, ADB, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Indian land acquisition laws and international safeguard policies.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Knowledge of social safeguard frameworks and ESG standards
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Analytical and reporting abilities
  • Proficiency in documentation and compliance management

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in large infrastructure projects (roads, railways, urban development, power, etc.)
  • Exposure to ESG audits and sustainability reporting
  • Familiarity with digital monitoring tools and MIS systems

Key Deliverables

  • SIA Reports, RAP, LRP, SMP, GRM
  • Monthly / Quarterly Social Monitoring Reports as per project requirement
  • Coordination with Project Team and tracking of data
  • Stakeholder Engagement and GRM Reports
  • Compliance reports as per lender requirements
