Job Title: Junior Fashion Designer Ethnic Wear

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Senior Fashion Designer to lead the design and development of our ethnic wear collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional Indian textiles, silhouettes, surface techniques (embroidery, prints, handwork), and evolving fashion trends. The role requires concept development, team leadership, coordination with sampling & production teams, and ensuring timely delivery of innovative, commercially viable designs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Development

Conceptualize seasonal collections for ethnic wear

Develop mood boards, color stories, silhouettes, and fabric directions based on brand DNA and market trends.

Design and sketch original garments and oversee sampling of new styles.

2. Fabric & Surface Design

Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and finishes for each collection.

Innovate with embroidery, print, dyeing, and embellishment techniques suitable for ethnic wear.

3. Trend & Market Research

Conduct regular market research on consumer preferences, competitor offerings, and global/local ethnic fashion trends.

4. Collection Planning & Execution

Prepare detailed collection calendars and range plans.

Ensure all samples are developed on time with accurate specifications and finishing.

Work with Jr.designers, tailors, and sampling team to ensure design accuracy.

5. Team & Cross-functional Coordination

Guide and mentor junior designers, interns, and sampling team.

Coordinate with the merchandising, production, and sales teams for timely approvals and line launches.

6. Coordinate with different dept

Collaborate with marketing teams for photoshoots, catalog shoots, and styling for social media.

7. Quality & Cost Consciousness

Ensure designs align with brand pricing and production feasibility.

Maintain a balance between design innovation and commercial viability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Fashion Design (NIFT, NID, Pearl, or equivalent preferred).

02 years of experience in ethnic wear design.

Strong sketching and visualization skills.

Excellent knowledge of fabrics, embroidery, Indian crafts, and finishing techniques.

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, CorelDRAW, Excel, and CAD tools.

Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.

A strong aesthetic sense with the ability to work under deadlines and deliver quality designs
