Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad for a Jewellery Computer Aided Design professional. Responsibilities include creating intricate jewelry designs using CAD software, ensuring precision and attention to detail. The role also encompasses contributing to design development, collaborating with production teams, and refining designs based on feedback. The successful candidate will work closely with the customer service team to meet specific client needs, while maintaining alignment with market trends and company standards.

Qualifications

Jewellery CAD (Computer-Aided Design)is the use of specialized 3D modeling software to create detailed, precise, and customizable virtual models of jewellery pieces. This digital process streamlines manufacturing, improves design accuracy, and allows for client visualization before physical production begins.

Process of Jewellery CAD Design

  1. Concept & Sketching:The process often starts with an initial sketch or a client's vision.
  2. 3D Modeling:A designer uses CAD software (likeRhino,3Design, orMatrixGold) to translate the concept into a detailed 3D digital model, specifying dimensions, gemstone details, and metal types.
  3. Rendering:The software can generate photorealistic images or videos of the design, allowing clients to view the piece from multiple perspectives and make modifications without the need for expensive physical prototypes.
  4. Prototyping/Manufacturing (CAM):Once finalized, the CAD file is sent to a 3D printer or CNC milling machine to create a wax or resin model (Computer-Aided Manufacturing, or CAM).
  5. Casting & Finishing:This physical prototype is used in the traditional casting process (e.g., lost-wax casting) with molten metal, followed by polishing and stone setting by bench jewellers.
