Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Java Developer (Microservices & Cloud) to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable enterprise applications. This role involves driving technical innovation, translating business requirements into robust solutions, and guiding development teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and high-performance systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms, contributing to strategic technology initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.

Software Requirements

  • Required:
    • Extensive experience with Java (latest versions) (Java 8 or higher)
    • Proficiency with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or similar
    • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for deploying scalable applications
    • Version control proficiency using Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket)
    • Knowledge of microservices architecture and service integration techniques
    • Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle

  • Preferred:
    • Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Experience with RESTful APIs, API management, and DevOps practices (Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines)
    • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) and data caching strategies
    • Exposure to enterprise integration frameworks (Apache Camel, Kafka)
Overall Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of scalable, secure, and reliable Java-based microservices and enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical designs and architectures.
  • Guide and mentor development teams to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and quality metrics.
  • Drive architecture discussions, perform code reviews, and optimize application performance.
  • Implement and support cloud deployment strategies, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
  • Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines to enable rapid and reliable release cycles.
  • Participate in designing API interfaces, service integration workflows, and system security controls.
  • Conduct performance tuning, troubleshoot system issues, and guide disaster recovery planning.
  • Stay abreast of evolving technology trends, propose innovative solutions, and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years of enterprise Java development experience, with a focus on microservices architecture and cloud deployment.
  • Proven leadership in delivering scalable, high-availability applications.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in production environments.
  • Experience designing and supporting APIs, service layers, and distributed systems.
  • Industry experience supporting financial services, fintech, or regulated industries is a plus.
  • Alternative pathways include extensive enterprise application development with expertise in microservices and cloud infrastructure.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop and maintain scalable microservices supporting business functions.
  • Design, review, and optimize system architecture for performance and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature development, API design, and integration efforts.
  • Support cloud deployment, configuration, and scaling strategies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements.
  • Drive automation for build, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
  • Document system design, deployment architecture, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Java-based enterprise system development.
  • Proven expertise in microservices architecture, cloud deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Support experience in financial or highly regulated industries is advantageous.
