Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Candidates with server-side Kotlin development experience are highly preferred. Strong software engineering fundamentals, REST API development expertise, and experience building enterprise-scale applications are essential.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about clean code, testing, scalability, and product/platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and/or Kotlin.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
- Develop high-performance, secure, and reliable enterprise applications.
- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.
- Implement and maintain automated unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering excellence initiatives.
Required Skills
- 6–8+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java.
- Experience with server-side Kotlin (preferred) or willingness to learn and work extensively in Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- Strong experience developing REST APIs.
- Experience building enterprise-grade applications.
- Good understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
- Strong knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
