Opportunity within the IT Staffing & Recruitment sector supporting enterprise software development for a client operating in the Financial Services / Enterprise Applications space. We are hiring an on-site Java Software Engineer in India to join a product-focused engineering team building scalable, secure, low-latency backend systems.
Role: Java Software Engineer (On-site, India)
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java to deliver scalable, resilient microservices for production workloads.
- Implement RESTful APIs, data persistence layers (JPA/Hibernate) and efficient database interactions with SQL-based systems.
- Build and consume microservices using Spring Boot; ensure observability through logging, metrics and tracing.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; enforce code quality through automated testing and code reviews.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimate tasks, and collaborate closely with product, QA and operations to ship features end-to-end.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement performance and reliability improvements.

- SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)

- AWS (EC2, RDS, S3) or equivalent cloud platform
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience delivering production Java applications in an Agile environment; comfort working on-site in India.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control (Git) is advantageous.
