Job Description Java Developer (35 Years)
Role Overview
We are seeking a strong Java Developer to support regulatory technology initiatives across US -Transaction Tax (TTAX), Withholding Tax (WHT), and CRS Reporting platforms. The role involves design, development, integration, and production support within an Agile delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring/Spring Boot
- Implement regulatory business logic (tax computation, reclaim processing, reporting workflows)
- Integrate with upstream/downstream systems (event-driven or service-based)
- Develop APIs and service layers for reporting engines
- Participate in MVP design, backlog refinement, and sprint planning
- Perform unit testing and support integration testing
- Support UAT triage and production deployments
- Assist in decommissioning legacy components and platform modernization
- Document design decisions and ensure traceability
Required Skills
- 35 years of hands-on Java development experience
- Strong experience with:
- Java (Core + Collections + Concurrency)
- Spring / Spring Boot
- DB2 or other RDBMS (SQL optimization, joins, indexing)
- Experience in REST API development
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery
- Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
Good to Have
- Kafka or event-driven architecture experience
- Experience in capital markets / regulatory systems
- Exposure to tax, reporting, or compliance platforms
- Experience decommissioning legacy systems
- Prior Morgan Stanley or investment bank exposure
