Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities:
- Consulting & Requirements Elicitation:
- Consult with business and IT stakeholders to perform requirements elicitation and gathering.
- Design technical monitoring and alerting solutions to meet both business and technical requirements.
- Develop and build technical solutions to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Support & Maintenance:
- Support, maintain, and continuously improve Link Group's global Monitoring and Event Management platform and associated integrations.
- Manage lifecycle of Monitoring and Alerting tools ensuring software currency and maintenance occurs per agreed release cycles.
- Promoting & Championing:
- Promote and champion current and future capabilities of Link Group's global Monitoring and Event Management platform.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and peers.
- Review, update, and continuously improve processes, standards, policies, and documentation.
- Specialist Expertise:
- Provide specialist expertise and advice related to Monitoring and Event Management.
- Effectively manage colleague, client, and stakeholder expectations and relationships.
Experience & Personal Attributes:
- Technical Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in Monitoring and Event Management tools, including Splunk, Elastic, BMC, CA, Micro Focus, ScienceLogic, Solar Winds, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic.
- Experience in designing and building monitoring solutions across applications, infrastructure, and networks.
- Excellent knowledge of Splunk and New Relic Best Practices with up-to-date knowledge of product developments and features.
- 5+ years of Splunk integration, configuration, and deployment experience (Search Heads, Indexer Clusters, HTTP Event Collectors, Deployment Servers, Heavy Forwarders).
- Knowledge of SPL for solving complex data analytics problems and writing efficient queries.
- Experience managing data retention policies and performing index administration, maintenance, optimization, and configuration backups.
- Customer Experience & Security:
- Experience in improving customer experience via innovative and intuitive technical solutions.
- Knowledge of user administration and security best practices for Monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of Splunk at an architectural level, including integration with ServiceNow and other monitoring toolsets.
- System Design & Development:
- Strong knowledge of system design and development within Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services integration (XML, REST, SPML, SOAP).
- Proficiency in JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, CSS, XHTML, and XML.
- Certifications & Methodologies:
- Strong knowledge of ITIL v3/v4 methodologies, ITSM concepts, and enterprise IT architecture.
- Splunk and New Relic certification preferred.
- ITIL v3/v4 certification preferred.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an enterprise environment.
