Job Description

IT Service Manager Cloud & Data Center, Global is responsible for delivering the strategy, roadmap, and Operational excellence and stability through automation and agility across the organization to ensure a globally consistent, efficient, and effective service delivery of cloud-related services while improving the overall business performance. This role is responsible for developing and delivering reliable and innovative solutions as part of a Cloud1st strategy, supporting key business functions (e.g. Digital Unit) and other Global IT functions like Solution Delivery and I&A in achieving their goals. This role will also provide guidance and standards for the development of cloud solutions on the relevant cloud platforms and local / regional data center environments. This role is responsible to optimize the use of Cloud (mainly IaaS) and On-premises IT Infrastructure components in terms of costs, reliability, efficiency and business requirements.

IT Service Manager Cloud & Data Center, Global is responsible for developing strong relationships with our Cloud Partners and Service Providers as well as internal and external stakeholders to develop the overarching cloud strategy, to ensure that the target cloud architecture is maintained, and the cloud infrastructure is kept highly available. This role will also provide guidance and standards for the development of cloud solutions on the relevant cloud platforms.

IT Service Manager Cloud & Data Center, Global is also responsible for the development of the governance and risk framework for cloud deployment and coordinates closely with the IT Security and IT Compliance teams to provide guidance on implementing cloud technologies from a risk and security perspective.

Primary Responsibilities

Cloud Strategy, Architecture & Roadmap

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and cloud vendors to determine the recommended cloud strategy.
  • Recommend innovative and new cloud-based solutions for shaping the future cloud architecture strategy.
  • Understand the current state and develop the target architecture, future vision, and migration plan for cloud related technologies, platforms and supporting infrastructure.
  • Establish the cloud implementation roadmap and plan based on the target architecture.
  • Establish the cloud migration roadmap and plan based on the target architecture.
  • Evolve the cloud strategy to remain current with industry trends and technologies to take full advantage of cloud capabilities to innovate and excel; drive innovation within the team.
  • Develop strong relationships with cloud vendors to develop the overarching cloud strategy, to ensure that the target cloud architecture is maintained, and the cloud infrastructure is kept highly available.

Design & Operations

  • Drive adoption of cloud technology roadmaps, feeding into wider strategic decision making and provide clear leadership and a plan for implementation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the technical team responsible for the operational management and site reliability of core cloud infrastructure and digital workplace.
  • Respond to consultation requests from users and stakeholders and support them in an easy-to-understand manner (e.g.: use cases, scenarios)
  • Own and empower the engineering team to develop a cloud strategy roadmap to implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization, in line with the cloud and related enterprise architecture roadmaps.
  • Provide guidelines, standards and oversight to ensure cloud solution designs align to the global roadmap and identify potential areas for automation of cloud solutions.
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives; drive the team to continuously improve based on good practices.
  • Oversee the management of cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
  • Provide technical expertise and act as a final escalation point.
  • Ensure all operational issues are responded to and resolved by the team in a timely manner, and that work is correctly prioritized whilst working to implement automation into processes to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of service performance, optimization, and further development of existing solutions, as well as troubleshooting and fault elimination where necessary.

Governance

  • Develop and deploy a cloud deployment governance framework to support implementation and operations of existing technologies and requests for new solutions leveraging industry good practice
  • Oversee internal controls to ensure compliance with the cloud governance framework.
  • Monitor the components of the cloud governance framework to ensure that the links between processes remain intact and valid when changes are made.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the Security GRC team to provide guidance on implementing cloud technologies from a risk and security perspective.

People Management

  • This is not a team management position; however, the IT Service Manager plays an important role in motivating, developing, and appraising team members so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business.
  • Ensure a close collaboration and teamwork between global and regional IT team members.

What we are looking for:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration (or equivalent and related experience preferred).

Experiences

  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in working with cloud technologies, developing cloud architecture, strategy and roadmaps
  • Strong understanding of common cloud technologies, tools, methodologies and principles.
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers, platforms, products and tools in particular Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Experience in cloud vendor evaluation and selection
  • Certification as an MS Azure or AWS Solutions Architect and/or other Cloud Security Certifications
