Role Overview:
- The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security protocols to protect the organization's network infrastructure. The role focuses on minimizing vulnerabilities, preventing cyberattacks, and ensuring adherence to cybersecurity policies and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy advanced security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
- Configure and optimize security protocols across routers, switches, and other network devices
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify risks and recommend solutions
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity measures with organizational objectives
- Lead incident response activities during security breaches or malware attacks
- Perform regular updates and patch management of systems and security applications
- Monitor network traffic to detect suspicious behavior or unauthorized access attempts
- Develop, document, and enforce cybersecurity policies and standard operating procedures

Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
- 35 years of hands-on experience in network or information security
- Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNP Security) preferred
- Proficiency in configuring firewalls, routers, and security protocols
- Familiarity with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Shell)
- Experience with security tools like IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities
