Job Description

As an IT Project Lead - Project Manager at Medtronic, you will be responsible for leading and directing multiple IT projects within the Enterprise Architecture Data Platforms (EADP) organization. This includes managing projects related to large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency, and application upgrades. You will be accountable for all project facets from initiation to closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline constraints while adhering to Medtronic's quality standards.

A Day in the Life

You will drive critical IT initiatives by:

  • Leading and directing one or more project teams engaged in global initiatives across functional and regional organizations.
  • Developing and managing all facets of projects, including estimates, proposals, work plans, resource plans, and schedules.
  • Ensuring successful implementation through effective organization, leadership, business case and benefits management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Maintaining adherence to all Corporate and IT policies and standards.
  • Effectively managing project constraints: Scope, Cost, and Schedule.
  • Providing technical and analytical guidance to leadership governance bodies.
  • Building trust and rapport with key stakeholders and facilitating executive-level steering committee discussions.
  • Monitoring and controlling project financial metrics to meet expectations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Medtronic's quality system procedures for system validation.
  • Fostering strong working relationships and a motivating environment for project team members.
  • Ensuring information protection in accordance with Medtronic's policies.
  • Institutionalizing Medtronic's development lifecycle processes and project management methodologies.
  • Providing analytical guidance for issue and risk resolutions and escalating issues as appropriate.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.
  • Prior experience managing data and analytics, automation, and integration-related projects within an IT organization.
  • Prior experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools and techniques.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills, including strong written, oral, and presentation abilities.
  • Experience working in a Global environment, including integrated employee and vendor teams.

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Previous Medtronic experience.
  • Ability to create detailed project plans in Microsoft Project.
  • Resource, cost, and budget planning/estimation experience.
  • Fiscal management, budget tracking, and reporting experience.
  • Experience facilitating working sessions and steering committee meetings.
  • Experience creating risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience managing highly technical personnel and business systems analysts.
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated success in developing stakeholder partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale, complex projects in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and proactive in managing change.
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Sound business and technical acumen (data and analytics, automation, and integration experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to all levels of management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Advanced Scrum Master Certification.
