IT/OT Software Engineer Job

About the Role:

We are looking for an IT/OT Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the integration, development, and maintenance of systems that bridge Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT). This role involves working with industrial systems, automation platforms, enterprise applications, and data integration frameworks to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, configure, and maintain applications that integrate IT and OT systems.
• Support in deployment and troubleshooting of smart sensors, PLC, DCS & Plant level SCADA systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data flow from shop-floor devices to enterprise systems.
• Implement and maintain data structure, data pipelines, and middleware solutions for IT/OT integration.
• Assist in designing secure architectures for industrial networks and connected devices & sensors.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve incidents related to IT/OT systems.
• Participate in software upgrades, patch management, and documentation.
• Work with PLCs, sensors, edge devices and middleware gateway where required.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices within OT environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, Mechatronics or related field.
• 1-4 years of hands-on experience in IT, OT, or industrial automation domains.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C#, or Node.js.
• Familiarity with SCADA, MES, PLCs, IoT platforms, or industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT).
• Experience with database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and API-based integrations.
• Basic understanding of industrial networks, cybersecurity, and systems architecture.
• Knowledge understanding of the ISA-88 and ISA-95 Standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across software, devices, and network layers.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problemsolving skills.

Preferred Skills (Good-to-Have):

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Factory Talk, Beckhoff, Schneider, etc.
• Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and edge computing
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443)
• Experience with data visualization dashboards (Power BI, Grafana, Ignition, etc.)
