What's The Role
The IT Operations Engineer (Infrastructure) accountable for the support and maintenance of the infrastructure on which IT applications in the Treasury IT portfolio operate on.
You will be part of the Treasury operations team within GF Finance Intelligence Nexus LoB. The Treasury landscape consists of 10+ Super Prime & Prime business critical applications which manages Shell's Cash position day in, day out, adhering to daily deadlines of the banking industry, subject to SOX/FCM Controls. Treasury operations work with 5 external suppliers to manage a mix of hybrid on-premise and Cloud operational landscapes with many integration points. With a complex and critical landscape like this, there is a need of highly secure environment to be run and maintained for the Treasury and Finance business to operate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain the infrastructure you are responsible for by performing minor changes including vulnerability patching, performance and capacity maintenance.
- Support the application support team to analyze and resolve application incidents and problems working with T-systems infrastructure team, enterprise firewall team, etc.
- Follow the processes for efficient handling of incidents, problems and changes in compliance with SOX and IT control requirements.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's in Information Technology or related degree with minimum 5 years of working knowledge in IT Infrastructure operations and support processes
- Hands-on technical knowledge of network and server operating systems, specifically Windows.
- Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN and internet uses and typical user connectivity problems
- Experience with scripting technologies - Shell, Powershell, VB Script
- Experience with Splunk or equivalent monitoring Dynatrace etc.
- Experience in supporting the infrastructure for application, database (SQL Server, Oracle) and windows servers, server access, file share access
- Experience with network products and protocols including TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancers, DNS and core infrastructure services: LDAP, Active Directory
- Ability to take end-to-end accountability with minimal support.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Flexible and willing to perform weekend work when required or Bangalore afternoon shifts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical issues to all levels.
- Strong communication skills: verbal and written presentation skills.
- Knowledge on Shell IT control framework will be an added advantage.
