Job Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure & Desktop Support Engineer with 46 years of experience in IT hardware, networking, and system administration. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, networking devices, firewalls, servers, and security systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, networking knowledge, and experience with system monitoring and asset management.

Key Responsibilities;

1. Hardware & Desktop Support

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Perform operating system installations, upgrades, and patch updates.
  • Provide L1/L2 technical support to users and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Maintain system performance and ensure smooth end-user operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs, AMC support, and warranty claims.

2. Networking & Connectivity

  • Monitor and maintain LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure including switches, routers, and access points.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, IP configuration, DNS, and DHCP issues.
  • Manage structured cabling, patch panels, and network performance.
  • Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for network uptime and bandwidth management.

3. Firewall, Security & Surveillance

  • Configure and monitor firewalls (Sophos, FortiGate or similar) and manage VPN access.
  • Ensure endpoint security through antivirus updates and security patch compliance.
  • Configure and maintain biometric attendance systems and CCTV/IP camera systems.
  • Support data protection through regular backup and recovery operations.

4. Server & Systems Management

  • Manage Windows servers, user accounts, and Active Directory policies.
  • Perform administration and maintenance of Ubuntu/Linux servers using command-line operations.
  • Monitor system performance and maintain server backup schedules.
  • Conduct restore testing and ensure data availability.

5. IT Asset Management

  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Manage asset allocation, return, and disposal in compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct periodic asset audits and physical verification.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

  • Hardware: Laptop & desktop maintenance, peripheral configuration, BIOS/UEFI setup, CPU, GPU, memory, and other components.
  • Networking: LAN, WLAN, WAN topology and configuration.
  • Networking Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs.
  • Security & Firewall: Experience with Sophos, FortiGate, Quick Heal, or similar security tools; understanding of XDR/MDR technologies.
  • Operating Systems: Ubuntu (command-line operations), Windows installation, configuration, and Active Directory management.
  • Server & Backup Management: Server monitoring, setup, and backup scheduling.
  • Surveillance Systems: Biometric attendance systems and CCTV/IP camera configuration.
  • Software Knowledge: Basic understanding of Python, Angular, and .NET environments.
  • DevOps Tools: Git and Docker installation and configuration.
  • Asset Management: Experience using IT asset tracking or inventory management systems.
