Role Summary:
We are seeking an accomplished IT Delivery Leader with strong experience in pharmaceutical industry processes to lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise IT programs and digital transformation initiatives. The role requires deep understanding of GxP-regulated environments, validated systems, and pharma business functions, combined with proven leadership in large-scale IT delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Delivery & Program Management
- Lead end-to-end IT delivery for multiple concurrent programs across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure.
- Own delivery governance, planning, execution, risk management, and successful closure of programs.
- Ensure delivery commitments on time, cost, quality, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary IT delivery interface for senior business stakeholders.
Pharma Process & Domain Leadership
- Experience in managing engagements on key technology platforms Veeva, Medidata, LIMS, SAP S/4, Salesforce, etc.
- Experience in product commercial launch, emerging biotech, AI-led value chain transformation.
- Ensure systems align with GxP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, ICH, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Drive adoption of validated systems and documentation practices across projects.
- Strong knowledge of Pharma business processes, including will be preferred:
- Commercial - Sales & Marketing, Medical, Market Access
- R&D - Clinical Operations, Discovery, Pharmacovigilance & Drug Safety
- Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain
- Regulatory Affairs & Submissions
Delivery Leadership & Growth Enablement
- Own end-to-end IT delivery for Life Sciences portfolios with clear linkage to business growth outcomes (revenue uplift, faster launches, market penetration, productivity).
- Drive a delivery-led growth model by proactively identifying opportunities where technology can:
- Improve sales effectiveness and rep productivity
- Enable omnichannel and personalized HCP engagement
- Accelerate product launches and brand transformation
- Convert Commercial demand into scalable delivery roadmaps with measurable business KPIs.
Vendor, Financial & Portfolio Management
- Own Commercial IT portfolio management including budgeting, forecasting, and financial discipline.
- Lead multi-vendor delivery ecosystems (system integrators, SaaS vendors).
- Ensure strong vendor governance, SLAs, cost optimization, and performance outcomes.
Stakeholder & Business Partnership
- Partner with Business, QA, Regulatory, Compliance, and Vendors to ensure aligned outcomes.
- Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to executive leadership.
- Build strong relationships with global and cross-functional teams.
Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Establish and maintain delivery frameworks aligned with SDLC, Agile, SAFe, or Hybrid models.
- Ensure adherence to validation, audit readiness, change control, and inspection preparedness.
- Lead vendor governance, SLA management, and third-party delivery oversight.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead high-performing Commercial IT delivery teams across geographies.
- Mentor delivery managers, architects, and product owners.
- Strengthen organizational capability in:
- Commercial domain knowledge
- Agile delivery in regulated environments
- Business-facing IT leadership
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- MBA or master's degree preferred
Experience
- 15+ years of overall IT experience with 5-8+ years in delivery leadership roles
- Significant experience in Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry
- Demonstrated success delivering large, complex IT programs in regulated environments
- Experience managing multi-vendor and global delivery models
Technical & Domain Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- GxP compliance, Validation lifecycle, CSV/CSA
- Pharma platforms such as Veeva, Oracle, SAP, LIMS, MES, CTMS (any combination)
- Familiarity with cloud, data platforms, integrations, and enterprise architectures
- Experience with Agile / SAFe delivery models in regulated domains
